Layouts

Ford Transit Van Conversion Layouts

A Ford Transit conversion layout comes down to three choices: where the bed goes, how many people ride belted, and whether you need a toilet. The Classic puts a Bi-Slide bed across the back and keeps the floor open and reconfigurable; the Metis folds a double Murphy bed up to free a rear couch by day. Across the four layouts, our Transit builds sleep up to 6 and seat up to 9, with a cassette toilet included on the Metis and optional on the Classic. Each model page carries its floor plan and the full list of what the base build includes.

Every Titan Ford Transit build includes:

  • Victron 200 Ah Li-Ion Battery
  • 330 Watt Solar Panel
  • Victron Multiplus 3000 Inverter
  • 150A Alternator Charging (At Idle)
  • 30A Shore Power Charging
  • Webasto Furnace + SmarTemp
  • Complete Thinsulate Insulation
  • Rooftop Fan
  • Rear Utility Spray Down Shower
  • 2.9 GPM Water Pump

Transit or Sprinter

Ford Transit or Mercedes Sprinter?

Choose a Transit if you want a gas engine, Ford's dealer network for the van itself, and factory all-wheel drive that our builds fit without modification. Choose a Sprinter 144 or a Sprinter 170 if you want the Sprinter's diesel, the longer 170 body, or an indoor shower: the Ultra is built on the Sprinter only, as the Sprinter camper van with a shower. The Classic and the Metis layouts are built on both vans, so the choice is about the chassis, not the floor plan. The full comparison, with the Ram ProMaster, is Sprinter vs Transit vs ProMaster.

Questions

Ford Transit Van Conversion FAQ

How much does a Ford Transit van conversion cost?

Titan Ford Transit conversions start at $119,995 (2027 model year): $119,995 for the Classic 148, $127,995 for the Classic 148 EL, $148,995 for the Metis 148 and $162,995 for the Metis 148 EL. Prices include the Transit, and options are priced on top. Design Your Van gives you a line-item price for your exact build.

Can a Ford Transit camper have a bathroom?

A toilet, yes: the Metis 148 and Metis 148 EL include a 5-gallon cassette toilet, and the Classic 148 offers a cassette toilet as an option ($395). Every Transit build has a rear utility spray-down shower for outdoor showers and rinsing gear. An indoor shower is the Ultra's feature, and we build the Ultra on the Mercedes Sprinter 144 and 170, not on the Transit.

Is AWD available on a Transit conversion?

Yes. Every Titan Transit price includes a factory all-wheel-drive Transit, and our builds fit it without modification. Off-road, wheel and tire, and skid plate packages are available as options (the Backcountry Off-Road PKG is $8,995).

Ford Transit 148 or 148 EL: what's the difference?

Both are the 148-inch wheelbase; the EL (extended length) adds body behind the rear axle, so it turns like a regular 148 and carries more inside. In our lineup that room shows up as seating: the Classic 148 EL seats up to 9 where the Classic 148 seats up to 7. Compare the two extended layouts on our Ford Transit 148 EL camper vans page.

How long does a Ford Transit conversion take?

Our current lead time is 4–12 weeks from your deposit, depending on model and options. Chassis availability and the build queue move it, so your estimate confirms the date for your build. If you would rather not wait for a build slot, our camper vans for sale are finished builds you can drive home; each listing shows when its van is available.
